In the movie Lethal Weapon...Gary Busey is a terrorist and is trying to get
away...runs up to someone on the freeway and yanks them out of their 5000
and says..."mind if I test drive your Audi."

Subject: Audis in the movies (was james bond and audi)

With all this talk about Bond driving audis, I thought I just pass along
this little gem. In the movie "Independence Day", which came out last
summer, if you freeze frame the tape where you see cars crashing upside
down from the aliens superweapon, you notice that the car being crushed
is a '80-83 5000/100. Look even closer and you'll see they removed the
gas tank (for safety reasons I guess). They filmed it from several
different angles to look like more cars were flying when it really was
just one. Also in the crowd scene where Jeff Goldblum bicycles thru the
crowd, he passes right in front of a 4000/coupe/quattro (can only see
the front grill). The only 2 cars focused on in any scenes and they're
both Audis! Wonder if the director (who's German I think) likes Audis
too.
