George, I too would think it would be exhaust-related, but without checking
it out could not confirm.  Weren't you thinking of finding a competent
mechanic/technician in the Detroit Area a week ago for your daughter's
impending move?  If you are, then might I suggest my local wrench.  His name
is Phil LaCasse and he works at a place called Auto Europe in Birmingham,
Michigan. Tel: (248)645-6300.  He is the most competent Audi tech I know, and
I used to work at one of the dealerships he did.  He also owns an "87? 5kt"
