Reading from the color chips in my 32 page glossy Audi 4000/Coupe GT sales
brochure from 1986:

                     "Titan Red Metallic"

And there on the color chip is a Burgundy/red metallic shade of paint that
is no where near being confused with Mars Red or Tornado Red. This stuff is
deep dark and like you mixed red with graphite and threw in some blue.Its
on the way to being purple but never quite got there.
