Glenn-
On my '90 CQ, for the motor, I have replaced the stock componants with
K&N Cone filter, Piper Cams and Scorpion Exhaust. The Cone adds a
delightfull growl at higher RPM's while adding power all around, as does
the exhaust, which, by the way, sounds GREAT. Cams, don't do much for
the notoriously weak "lowend", but after about 5.5K RPM, they kick in
and pull all the way to redline... and you can definitely feel them come
on... All of the above were sourced from TAP.
For the chassis, I have put on Bilstien Sport Shocks and H&R Springs. I
am using the stock bushings in accordance with advice from various
listers. The ride is stiff, much more than stock, especially with a set
of blown-out Boge's, but not as stiff as some of the guys on the list
led me to beleive. Granted, they aren't the greatest for driving down
Comm Ave, but they are more than bearable for me. My tires are
235/40-17ZR Nitto NT-501 (good 'n cheap) on TSW Hock R's in black powder
coat. I have bent the rims, not severely though, in Boston, but I have
been able to hammer out all of the dents because of the soft metal that
TSW uses. The car grips, er, tenaciously, and all I can say is that I
love the end result.
Next week, I will be adding a rear stress bar, OMP seat for the driver
along with 4-point 2" belts, as well as ATE powerdisc rotors and
performance friction pads along with steel braided brake lines.
Other mods include MOMO Corse steering wheel, OMP pedals and PIAA 910
Driving lights.

See you-
