My service manager just said 'most people come in and get an oil change
at 3k or so'... he wasn't pushing for or against it... kind of
a personal preference.  He charges $19.95 so I doubt that it's a big
profit for him!  In fact, I don't think he gets to rebuild many VW/Audi
engines either way...  maybe replace all the seals on the V6s...

My 1.8TQ got a 3k oil change.

I strongly suspect the story of the VW that died at 10k had more to
do with driving style than oil... put synthetic in so I can drive it
real hard.
