I wouldn't even have called the dealer.  Sure, you can make him drive 60 miles 
to change a light.  But he won't be pleased.  And you just _might_ want a 
favour in the future - an extra modification, adjustment or some information 
that _isn't_ covered by your warranty.

Warranties are like any other kind of contract.  Once people start quoting them 
at each other, the relationship is in the toilet.

(_BOTH_ of my auxiliary main beam bulbs failed on the way to the quattro Club
 meeting last night.  I changed them both against a background of considerable
 banter and jocularity.  I _hate_ changing the right one on the ur-quattro,
 because it means taking all the trim off and demounting the entire headlight
 assembly.  Thankfully I had two assistants - one to hold the inspection light 
 and the other to hold my beer.)
