Okay for those guys who have questions about the eurovan engine:

Yes this motor will bolt up to a five speed Quattro transmission:
Yes it will fit in a 4000Q/100/200/5000 etc. etc.
Yes the crank accepts a 5000 flywheel.  
Although the head is different from the standard five cyclinder motor, the
short block will BOLT UP to a 5000 head provided the bolt holes are resized
to 12mm's.  
The cyclinder spacing is the same.
As for high RPM life, I'll let you know when I get my 4000Q on the track, I
suspect that the bottom end will hold up nicely.
A stock 5000 crank pulley will bolt up as well.  All the acessory mounts plus
some are present.
The knock sensor mounts are present as well, for both single and dual knock
sensors.

If there are any disbelievers I can take pictures of my 2.5 long rod turbo in
the engine bay of my 4000.
