Chi. QCUSA Picnic Report

I was lucky enough to be able to attend another chapters event
on the 7th of June. I was in Chicago, and drove my Volvo rental
through the rain to Schamuburg Audi. First of all I have to say I
have NEVER seen an Audi dealer with so many Quattros. There may
be others with more but this place it right up there. The rest of
the lot was full of Subies, making for a shitload of AWD cars in one
place. I almost put the Volvo off the road testing it's road holding
power on an on ramp in the rain. Can you say understeer! I was looking
forward to getting back into something properly driven by all four!

Upon arrival I see a whole row of interesting cars lined up aroud back
near the sevice bays. It didn't take long to find the charcoals being
started in the rain. (We don't do that in LA!) and the club memebers
collecting inside the service bay. (We dont do that in LA! == Lawyers)
Inside the bay I found a sweet little Quattro club racer, Craigs red
4KT, slammed, with sticky skins and a Outback front end on it - Cool!
The front end has to come off to get it on and off the trailer :-)

Their was a very well presented and carefully watched brake maintenance
discussion / presentation. (We don't do that in LA) Their was much
learining going on. Nickely done.

In all, excellent support by local dealer, good crowd, informative.
I have to say I learned a few things that I hope to put to good
use in planning future Socal QCUSA events. Thanks to everyone
involved. It was nice to meet Craig, Sean, Todd and the gang.

Thanks to all.
