RE: alternator
I wanted to test my alternator/battery warning lamp in the upper dash
because my alternator was not charging and I got no warning, so I grounded
the D+ termanal and the oil pressure warning light came on. I then grounded
the two oil pressure sensors near the dipstick and got the desired oil
warning lights.
Phil, I assume this will give me the same result as your description for the
cross wire test.. Since the alternator wire does not seem to be crossed
with the oil sensor wires I am at a loss as to how the alternator wire could
give me an oil pressure warning. I am also wondering why the battery went
dead from lack of alternator charge and gave no warning, oil light or
otherwise :-)
happy trails..
Jon
