cruise contrl oscillations, uphill in '91 200tq -Reply

I recently drove my 91 200qw from NE Iowa to Southern California and
then to South Carolina within a 4 week time period.  I went through
Nebraska to Denver, then up 285 to Gunnison, Montrose, Durango and
out through Four Corners, Flagstaff, Kingman, through Barstow, and up
over the Cajon Pass.  SoCal to SC was thru Phoenix, El Paso, Dallas,
Birmingham, and Atlanta.  Final destination Greenville, SC

Lots 'o hills of every imagineable gradient.  LOTS of cruise control use. 
Not even the *slightest* hint of what you describe.
My cruise control holds speed very accurately.
(As long as the speedo needle isn't doing the pogo routine :-))  

Sounds like your mechanic has come across two cars with the same
problem which he can't diagnose.  Now *that* would be normal...
