     I have done that to but I found the der. cables are not strong
enough. The fix will work for a while though. I did have better luck
with 1/4" S.S. aircraft cable I bought from the local HECHINGERS. I used
a tool that is used to crimp electrical conectors. The tool cost me
about 40.00usd and works quite nice. I would not wind the cable TO tight
as it WILL break the spool.
