The Bentley manuals actually are good on diagrams, from what I've heard. It's
the written instructions that are supposedly lacking.

I have not gone into detail on the technical service bulletins either. As far
as I know, these are just suggestions on things to fix. I know my car has a
few of the symptoms in these bulletins. I've not done anything about it to
this point.

My mechanic told me that my head gasket leaked due to a design flaw in the
gasket. Something about it was too thin near where the channel carrying oil
to the lifters was wore through. He believed it got worse just due to the
fact the area that was weak continued to deteriorate. I am currently trying
to recover some of the cost from Audi, because I hear this is a common flaw.
