heat and lo batt. indicator

Hey listers,

For the past two summers, whenever it gets quite hot out (80 deg. plus) my
86 5KCST will indicate on the autocheck display that the battery voltage
level is low, but when I check voltage through the climate control, it is
nominal, 12V or a little more.  This summer, it has also started warning
abuot the gas level too, even though there is plenty of gas and the
regular gauge agrees.

Is this just the heat mucking with the sensor's head, or is it something
to look into?
