US standard conversion chart for lbs -> HP :-)

Let's do some math. We'll assume a 2500 lb auto with a 1-HP motor.
According to this instructor, lightening the car to 2430 lbs would make
essentially the same difference as raising the HP to 11, correct?
Lessee:
We have 3 options:
#1 = 2500 lbs / 1 hp = 2500 lb/hp
#2 = 2430 lbs / 1 hp = 2430 lb/hp
#3 = 2500 lbs / 11 hp = 227 lb / hp
Clearly the rule of thumb only applies to the specific car he was
describing, within a very narrow range of change. You cannot generalize,
as shown above.
