I've got mine permanently wired in, tied into the mess in front of the
driver's (me, <VBG>) knees, cord behind various trim pieces, with the
suction cup mount stuck on just under the rear view mirror. I take my V1
out whenever I'm not in the car (lost an Escort, then a Passport, won't
lose the V1), but leave the suction cup mount and the wire. HTH.
