The story on German box tuners I got is as follows:
MTM is a shop with 3 engineers and about 5 techs working
on cars.  A fairly small operation, but a tidy operation
with a good reputation.  They, and the other tuners tend
to rely upon on fellow to do the box tuning.  Much of the
code we have seen over the years was supposed to come from
this one fellow.  I think you have the real deal with MTM.
As for the claims, well, marketing is the same everywhere.
I am sure it IS improvement, but how much?  Prolly running
up the bbost and spark advance at low levels then backing down
at higher R's.
