Rebuild 'em....



"Scott J. Doherty" <urcoupe@stans.com> sent a report of having his 
alternator rebuilt.

MORE evidence that it is often better to rebuild starters and 
alternators than to replace them.  Dunno why so many people seem 
compelled to have things replaced rather than rebuilt!

Also, BTW, it's often MUCH less expensive to have radiators rodded 
out rather than replaced.

Ex:  My alternator was noisy - had a bearing going out.  Dropped it 
off at a local shop and the replaced the bearings AND renewed the 
windings - in ONE day - for under $50.
