Time to get your facts (which you thought would set mine straight) straight.
 In the EARLY 1900's, Ferdinand Porsche built a duo of sorts, and sold them
to the public.  Electric motors at the wheels, with batteries, and a gasoline
engine which fed the electrics directly, or could charge the batteries, or
could drive the car.  Have a nice day.
