91 100 back-up lights

HI

I was wondering if anyone has come into the same problem as my father is
having with his 91 100.  When the car is on and in park, the back-up
lights are constantly lit.  When you change to anything other than
reverse, they go out.  If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
