Re: V8 and steering effort
You don't say which year V8's you both have, but if you have the
servotronic option that was optional on 91 and later V8's, it can be easily
disabled by disconnecting the two wire electrical connector on the steering
rack valve housing. I've never done this deliberately, but I have driven
cars where the system had failed, and I think you'll find the steering
effort quite a bit higher, if that's what you want.
