A4 Avant spotted in USA
This is not a big deal to non-USA listers, but....
While driving around Tysons Corner, VA on Saturday, I spotted what appeared
to be a pearl A4 Avant. Since these are not supposed to be available here
until the fall, I gave chase to look. It was an Avant, but it was also a
1.9TDI, an engine that we are not going to get here. I thought it might be
a mule car, but from the double turned-down tailpipes and the smoke/smell
when it accelerated hard, it was definitely a diesel. (By the way, it
acclerated hard because it *seemed* to try to run away from me when I gave
chase. It obviously had not done it's horsepower math well, since I was in
the 200q uberwagon.....)
Impressions - it was smaller than I thought (it made the 200qw look huge).
Very tidy though, and it looked good in the 16" sport wheels. Two thumbs up!
I don't know what the car was doing around here; it had normal VA
registration, just the male driver in the car. Didn't seem interested in
stopping and talking. I'd still sell the 200qw if I could get one in
screaming yellow, 1.8t manual mode......SLM
