I upgraded mine last month. Actually, you have the 10 speaker system - 6 in
front and 4 in back. The amp is a booster amp with crossovers built in - it
must be bypassed if you plan on running any kind of power (over 10 watts).
Then you'll need to add 2 way crossovers for the rear - I got mine at Radio
Shack fer like 10 bucks each.

I installed a Sony reference series head unit 300.00 (last years model
w/wired remote), 10 disk changer 200.00 (display model), and a Pioneer 35x2
rear amp 50.00 (returned unit marked down 67%)
