86 4KcsQ Odometer - Repaired OK

Thanx to Dan H, Dan C, Ken & Frank for their immediate respones. The
problem described by Dan C & Ken is exactly what was wrong with my ODO. The
shaft which the main ODO disks ride on had slipped away fron the worm gear
which drives it & out of the frame on the other end. The gears were
undamaged. I was able to gently work the shaft back into its bushing onthe
free end and get the gears into mesh. I then drilled a 1/16 hole in the
bottom of the plastic case, in line with the end of the shaft, and oblonged
it until I was able to slip a section of 1/8 nylon (AT&T) tie up to the
back of the speedo face to prevent the shaft from slipping out. I cut it
off flush with the case and fused it to the case with a soldering gun. The
odo works fine and the tie should prevent the shaft from slipping out.

Thanx again for all the advise! Great list!
