I just ordered a new overflow tank for my 87cgt. The old one has a small leak
along the edge next to the fender. I started looking for a problem when the
temp guage took to shooting up briefly, the going right back to normal. I
also noticed that the top hose, the big one from block to radiator, was hot
but not under pressure. The system is intended to be pressurized for best
results.
