Re: My "new" Audi! :-)
Paul,
So far the suggestions have included:
1. Replace the trim piece. An excellent suggestion, but in my case, there
are holes in both the trim piece that extends into the passenger foot well
as well as the trim piece "above" that by the shifter. So, I'd have to buy
2 trim pieces, and install them, which is really not what I'm interested in
doing...
2. Fill the holes with some kind of, well, filler, making sure its flexible
when dry to be able to adjust to temperature changes. No specific
suggestions yet on fillers to use, but this is the solution I'm leaning
towards.
3. A couple people have suggested plastic caps, like at the end of a Bic
pen. Buy a bunch of black pens, pop off the end caps, and insert them in
the holes. Probably the fastest solution, but I'm not sure I'd like the way
that looks. I think a filler of some kind would present a smoother less
obvious solution. (And what would I do with all those pens!) Someone also
suggested that a dealer might have similar caps available too.
Hope this helps. And if anyone can make any more suggestions relative to
solution (2) above, I'd appreciate them.
