I have a 17 foot boat which I tow with my '90 200T (FWD). Probably your
18 foot boat is heavier. My car pulls the boat ok with obvious reduction
in acceleration and braking. I am not sure I would want to pull anything
too much heavier. Even without Quattro, it is able to pull the boat out
of the water as long as there is reasonable traction for the front
wheels. By the way, I have an automatic transmissions; with a standard,
you need to be careful not to kill the clutch when pulling the boat out
of the water.
