Yes, the tranny fluid does need to be checked from time to time. I don't know
if your car came with the dipstick to do it with or not. Mine did not. The
dipstick is located at the right rear of the engine. A red cap will be over
the hole where the dipstick goes if you don't have one. The dealer's excuse
for not giving the dipstick to you with the car was that they did not trust
non-dealer mechanics playing with their transmissions. I'd suggest getting it
checked if you see no record of it being checked recently.
