Too high, though not dangerous.
I assume a WR? It might pay to check that oil is actually passing through the
oil cooler. There's a curious sprung plunger assembly in the WR's twin filter
holder that seems to control flow to the oil cooler on a thermostatic basis -
I've never had one to pieces but it's on my list of things to have a damn good
look at if I ever get the chance.
Really, what I would like is someone with your symptoms within, say, a twenty
mile radius.
