Various comments regarding identification of the Lancia  . . .

Carter's Quattro Sport competition could have been a Lancia Stratos. 
As I recall, the Stratos was a potent '70s rally car that saw some street
duty among European enthusiasts of the adventurous and affluent
persuasion.  I'd have thought it would be a pretty lively ride.
