There is a flip side to owning several Ladas in the past: if you were so good 
mechanically, that were able to keep them running all year round, from +40°C to -40°C, day 
in-day out, you are unlikely to be intimidated by_ANY_car in the world (OK, perhaps only 
by a *K*-series Chrysler).

In a word -- ex-Lada owners make excellent Audi mechanics.
(And modest ones too....;-)
