When I had the clutch on my 80q replaced a few years ago, I thought that the 
garage had left out a spring because it felt so light.  The mechanic said 
that Audis always developed heavy clutches when the friction material wore 
even though they might be  still perfectly serviceable.

My clutch was only about 2/3 worn; the clutch was changed as the release 
bearing had gone.
