Did you see the tv program a few weeks back where Toad fitted one of their
cameras in a police decoy car in Leeds?
They parked it in a road off Mabgate, just across the motorway from the
Playhouse. Got a beautiful set of pics of a low-life breaking in, realizing
that it had a dummy radio but stealing it anyway. The police grabbed him as he
had it away on his toes towards the Playhouse and the Headrow where he hoped
to get lost in the crowds.
US listers should note that there is no 'entrapment' defence under English
law, at least not if you want to keep your testicles where God intended them
to be. Unfortunately, an increase in the number of social workers attending
police stations means that fewer petty thieves 'fall down the steps to the
cells' these days.
