Repair muffler

I failed the Texas state inspection, because my muffler has a crack in it
that is leaking exhaust. :(

Is there any easy way to repair the muffler?  The problem is that the
muffler is rusted to the intake and outlet pipes, and they won't come
off.  Also, it is in fine shape (no real rust) and could probably last
another two years or more.
