Our 85 5kt has been in Mn it's whole life(125k) and the body is near
perfect. This car gets washed max 3 times a year and has sat outside
during winter last 2 years. If you get a stone chip, rust will occur
but not otherwise; if the mechanicals were on a par Audi would rule the
world. Actually, some typical 5k troubles have not affected this car,
which I can't explain. All window switches and motors, door handles,
sunroof motor are original. However, you can deep-six the hydraulic
system, various temp sensors, rad hoses, climate controls.
