Mine is much worse.  It switches off if I use the turn signals.  Most likely
the wires from the switch have frayed and broken.

This is possible in your case.  It could also be the switches at the brake
and or clutch pedals.  See if it cuts out if you touch the pedals _very_
gently.  If not, suspect the wires at the switch.
