Latest on Alternator/Voltage regulator, A/C fan woes.....
ok, now where was on the last update...
A/C on, Voltage guage pegged at just under 12v....
A/C off. Voltage guage about 13.5 or so....
Parts store wants the Bosch serial number to match
the voltage regulator that's in the re-built alternator
in the car.
Ran the A/C last night because my 2 year old was
in the car and it 97f and humid... ick...
Turned the A/C on the way home and the Voltage
guage stay's at 12v, instead of it's usual jump
back up to 13.5 or so..... Hhhhmmmm.......
Pull the Voltage regulator out and it isn't a Bosch
it's something from Singapore with no markings
whatsoever, never mind a serial number!!!
HHHmmmmmm this thing looks filthy.... clean it up
tighten and scrape up the contacts, throw it back
in and wallah it's back up to 13.7!!
I'm not jumping for joy yet, gonna run it for a week
with the A/C blaring and see what happens....
See ya in a while....

89 100 Wagon (with funky voltage regulator)
90 V8 (going in for rear ball joints and bushings $$$$$ :-(
P.S. My buddy just bought a 88 5000s wagon 112k miles for
a $1,000.- bucks and his car did the same deal....
He is currently cruising around with my multimeter
to watch the voltage... (No voltage guage in those
beasts I guess...)
