A4 Brakes

The mtmA4 in question was actually featured in Performance Car
magazine (June issue, I think) along with a 320hp MTM S6 (ah, garcon,
I'll have one of those, please). Elsewhere in the issue they had a
lovely review of the S8! But I digress. The mtm A4 was a non-quattro
A41.8t Avant, the most noteworthy feature of which was the shocking
retinal-scarring yellow paint job and matching yellow cam cover. All
in all, a rather good article and high Audi-content issue.

One of the cars had massive 13.8 in rotors. For a guy with 14 in
wheels, this was rather demoralizing. The calipers used were, as Phil
correctly stated, a 6-piston unit taken from the Jaguar XK220! Braking
performance was, to put it mildly, adequate. Personally, I think the
paint job was selected to fuse your retina to the back of your eyeball
so that they wouldn't detach under spirited braking.

Of equal interest, the other car had a high performance AP brakes
which might be a better option for those interested in increasing A4
breaking performance.

As a side note, BR Motorsport are the official UK importers of mtm
cars and were featured prominently in the article.
