Subject: 5TK can't hold idle.

Dear cyberaudinauts:

My 5kt, '86, 180K miles has problems holding its idle.  The problem is 
intermittent and happens cold or hot.  It also stumbles from time to time when I
drive it.

My mechanic found nothing wrong ... Said car was running rich, the OXS was OK, 
so were the other sensors.

I can't find any vacuum leaks (I know, that doesn't mean they don't exist ...)
My fuel filter, spark plugs and wires are new (if that helps ...).

Does anybody have any pointers?
