Well, this works for me.

Lo these many years ago, when I first started lusting after a
4000CSQ in Alpine White, I couldn't handle the $20K price tag.
So I looked at a VW Quantum Synchro instead.

What did I find?

The 4000 was a Nice Car (tm), while the Quantum was cheesy vinyl and
plastic and looked more like a Hyundai then the Audi in comparison.
And to top it off, it was only $2K less.

Don't get me wrong, I love VW's. My family has owned 23 of them.
I had 3: a Rabbit and 2 Golfs. If they imported the Golf Country
to the US, I'd own one of those instead of my 100Q.

Back then, the Audi/VW distinction was a real distinction. But over
the years you started paying through the nose for the Audi badge.
I'd rather save the $10K....
