Re: cutting your springs

There was a thread on an autocross list at the end of last week from a
Camaro owner who was about to cut his springs. Several warned him not
to do it without doing the math first, but he was back the next day
admitting he had ruined his springs by cutting off too much. (I told
     you so, said everyone.)

     Either:
     1) cut off a little at a time, reinstall and test,
     2) do the math and figure exactly how much to cut, or
     3) accept someone else's BTDT and cut off what they tell you.

It's been too long since I was an engineer (oops - not really) to
bother remembering the math, so I can't (or won't) help you there.
