tires
thanks to those of you who responded to my questions about modifying a 200TQ.
I've decided to go with H+R's with Boge Turbo Gas struts, and 15x7 wheels
with 205/60-15's.
I've basicly decided on one of 3 summer tires, based on several discusions
with various employees of Discount Tire Direct, and on my previous experience
with Toyo Tires. Unfortunately, the two stores representitives disagree
somewhat, although they both endorse the Dunlop D40m2 (apx $83) and the new
Michelin Pilot XGT V4 (apx $114). Neither sells Toyo. However, they
disagree when comparing them. One thinks the Dunlop is as good or better
than the Michelin in all aspects except wear, and thats what I should buy.
The other sugests that the Dunlop may be just slightly better on dry
pavement, but the Michelin is much better on wet, rides better, and will last
about 50 percent longer.
Based on how much newer and more expensive the Pilots are, combined with the
good reputation of the Pilot line, I'm inclined to beleive the second.
As for Toyo Z1's, I'm not quite sure how they compare to the above, but
would say the are similar to the Michelins.
I now ask for the quattro owners experience and opinions,
Thanks again,
