Re: VW + Audi = !!!

 Elliot,
I believe it was on this very list that someone related back their
experience driving the new Passat somewhere in Europe. From what I recall,
the switchgear and materials were thought to be of a lesser quality when
compared to the Audi counterparts. I don't believe that the A4, given it's
content and reliable build quality, is overpriced simply because of the name
it carries, so where is VW finding the areas to cut costs and bring the
vehicle to market at a lower price? I think you'll see that the VW uses
cheaper material throughout to try and contain costs and this is where the
Audi "Advantage" (for lack of a better word/phrase) lies. So, it's up to
you, buy the Passat for the increased interior room and more attractive
price, though, lesser quality material, or buy the A4 for all it's inherent
goodness.
