RCA shielding
before we get on to esoterica about "directional" wire, let's
state what we DO know:
1) A single-end terminated shield is called a "faraday shield"
2) You terminate only one end so that ground current does not
flow in 2 paths, thus creating a potential for a ground loop
3) By terminating it at 1 end, there is a low-resistance path
to drain noise to ground
4) As noted earlier, this is superior to a simple coax because you
maintain a cleaner signal ground (maybe).
If you really want to control noise, run a balanced pair so that
noise cancels.
