Got em' 195-50-15's, paid 58 a piece, mounted them with the serial numbers
in.  You know, I doubt that 5 pecent of the time I'll be at the limit of
adhesion, in which case the direction of the tire may matter to .05 g's.  In
this case, it was just easier to mount them the same way, as your first
illustration.  I have not seen any problems, as of yet.
