The tachometer shows the RPM's of the engine. I believe the relay box you are
referring to determines the shift points for the transmission. These shift
points are determined by your driving style (unless you have a "sport" button
next to your shifter). Poor acceleration may point to a more engine related
problem than a transmission one (oxygen sensors, plugs, maybe fuel
injection). When my Bentley's arrive (ordered them a week ago, damn UPS
strike is delaying their arrival), I'll take a look at what this relay box
does.
