Stick with your existing oil regimen (dino or synthetic) and a new 
filter but if you are using dino, DONT change to synth for this long 
distance run - detergent effect of synth. may start seal leaks and 
other untoward oil losses. I would suggest using a multivis with a 50 
(5w50, 15w50) or, if not,  a 10w40 oil and keep a couple of quarts in 
the trunk for top ups!
