Another Rough Idle Thread
I'm a new Q-lister. I've subscribed for the last month and have really
enjoyed most of the topics.
I know that there have been a couple of threads about "idling" lately but
none have addressed my problems nor has the FAQ list (that I could find
anyway).
I have a 1990 Audi 80 non-quattro. It has the 2.0l engine and about 122K
miles. I thought the car was exhibiting symptoms that suggest the need of a
new O2 sensor. Poor idle and stalling on start up, hunting for the proper
A/F ratio, and high idle when warm 1200-1400 rpm. Plus the sensor hadn't
been changed in at least 60K+ miles (see, I bought the car with 60K on it and
assumed that the O2 sensor had been changed).
I changed the O2 sensor today but the same symptoms continue to exist. WHAT
is going on? I recently (within the last 2K miles) replaced
primary/secondary ignition wires, plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and air
filter.
I would really appreciate any suggestions the collective intelligence can
offer.
