I don't know the model or year of your car, but there is another
possibility: There is a drain in many Audis beneath the area where the
back of the dash meets the back of the engine compartment.  This is in
addition to the AC drains.  You with me?  As was the case with my '92
100CSQW, which was never garage kept, leaves and twigs and stuff blown
through the grillwork at the foot of the windshield accumulated over
years.  After a while, water had nowhere to go other than under the
driver's side footwell and then elsewhere.  Something last September
called Hurricane Fran finally brought the problem to my attention.  A
simple cleanout did the trick.  Good luck.
