Re: quattro-digest V4 #1054

Lee,

The different struts have pretty different designs.
The Bilsteins and Koni's are high pressure struts.
And the KYB's and Boges are low pressure units.
The high pressure stuff is nicer, but requires
greater precision and the leaking associated with
trying to contain 400 psi is a notable reliability
effect. Consider the price of labor for replacement.
(not bad for a 5K, sucks for a 4k) I actually put
cheap KYP struts on my daily driver / repo / auction
car, and they work just fine. Better is the enemy
of good enough, as hey say.
