Steve, if you are worried about your car sitting in an unsafe area, then
start it like the thieves do :-) Just connect the wires at the ignition
switch. Hope you have any wiring diagrams for your car. I don't have my
Haynes handy, so I won't be able to provide you with any info until
tomorrow. This should also verify if this is the switch that is causing
your problem. If you suspect the transmission safety switch, you can
short it also. Try starting the car with transmission in Neutral instead
of Park.
